A Short Guide on How to Work Pantone’s 2018 Color of the Year from Head to Toe

If you haven’t already heard, Pantone LLC, has named ultra violet as the official color of 2018.

Ultra violet is considered provocative, bold and visionary but since most of us tend to gear up in all black everything, this can be quite the change.

There’s no denying that it can be a bit uncomfortable breaking away from darker shades and moving toward more vibrant colors. But that ends now! I’ve gone ahead and picked out six ways that you can begin to incorporate ultra violet into your wardrobe without making a major commitment to the color.

Side note-if you’re daring, ultra violet would make for a gorgeous colored dress or matching pant suit for your fall and winter season, but don’t panic! There are less expressive ways to work this color into your wardrobe as well.

If you’re subtly trying to incorporate a tinge of vibrancy into your wardrobe, consider adding ultra violet in as your daily pop of color. Ultra violet will freshen up any look, giving you ultra-confidence.

Eyeshadow. Blending in warm colors such as ultra violet eyeshadow on a fresh face keeps eyes bright during the colder seasons. A subtle hint of purple complements any complexion. Make sure you blend!

Earrings. I’ve said it before and will say it again, chandelier earrings are back in action. Keep an eye out for an ultra violet pair. Throw these on with any outfit and you’re sure to rock it. My favorite style is the 3-tier tassel layer.

Scarf. Floral, enough said. Picture a floral patterned, ultra violet scarf mixed with deep blue and bright white, loosely clasped around the neck. If you’re missing the deep shade of black, definitely note that ultra violet blends well with navy blue.

Sweater. Praise a classic look by adding an ultra violet cardigan to your ensemble. Consider denim jeans, a white t-shirt and a ponytail. The perfect look for channeling your inner Betty Cooper, for a carefree day time event, school or next week’s casual office Friday.

Handbag. Make a statement. An ultra violet pocketbook will take any look to the next level. Pair with a denim jacket, solid colored shirt and a printed maxi skirt and you’re set for a fashion forward date night.

Shoes. Consider ultra violet on top, bottom or as a complete ensemble perfected with bright white tennis shoes. This clean look will have you noticed in all the right ways.

There you have it, a true mixture of vibrancy and comfort. If you’re not ready to make the whole leap just yet, hopefully these suggestions will help you get started on the right foot!
